International Student Arrival Pilot Plan of New South Wales this nearly December 2021
As of 1 October 2021, the pilot plan will permit 500 international students to return to Australia on two chartered flights.
International students will be on quarantine in student accommodation in Sydney and adhere to the quarantine and health requirements set by the Australian Government.
The arrivals of the international student will be separate from the weekly caps, and the education providers and returning students will handle all costs associated with travel and quarantine.
Before landing in Sydney, international students must be fully vaccinated with a recognised vaccine by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Below is the list of the vaccine names as of 1 October 2021:
- AstraZeneca
- Pfizer
- Moderna
- Janssen
NSW will prioritise the return of international students who are continuing higher education from universities and large independent providers and with other sectors and providers soon. Furthermore, a triumphant scaled return may lead to an expanded pilot plan to welcome more students to NSW from different institutions.
The returning students will be approached by their respective education institutions based on criteria and their situations.
