Australian Government broader the vaccine rollouts that opens the COVID-19 vaccination bookings to all 12 to 15 years old.
Last 13 September, Australia opened the vaccine booking for all children ages between 12 and 15 years.
Pfizer shot can now be book to all 12-15 years old at GP or Commonwealth vaccination clinic.
National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance’s director, Professor Kristine Macartney, said she hoped it would help to get children who had been affected by COVID-19 lockdowns back into the classroom.
Parents and guardians can book the appointment through the ACT Health Website.
Moderna Vaccine Secured
Australia’s expert vaccine advisory group (ATAGI) approved the Moderna vaccine last 12 September for 12-17 years old in Australia, which means it will be available for people aged 12-59. Also, Australia now secures 1 million more Moderna doses to support the vaccination program.
The additional doses and the first freight of the contracted doses will arrive within next week in Australia. It will go directly to the local community pharmacies across the country.
Therefore, there will be more than 11 million Pfizer and Moderna vaccine doses in Australia in September. This development will take the government’s next step on their plan to reopen Australia in October safely.
The vaccine rollout opened to aged 12 to 15 years old last 13 September and will be available until 20 September.
